Virtual Office: Phone.com Values the Cloud for Small Businesses

By Amanda Ciccatelli, TMCnet Web Editor

Phone (News - Alert).com, a virtual office services provider, offers an array of services to help businesses between one and three employees be successful. The reality is that it’s not easy to work with a strict budget, but your company can be smart and still spend money on the necessities. Phone.com’s recent blog entitled “Using The Cloud To Save Money As a Small Business” discusses how using the cloud does just this and more for your small business.

The “cloud” is helping companies put their entire operation into one function and become a complete virtual office, which has never been seen before. As the world grows smarter, cloud computing offers a variety of ways for small- and mid-size organizations to work more efficiently and more productively, while also saving money. The cloud helps small businesses meet the demands of customers in this fast-paced world of technology.

“One of the major thrusts over the past year has been the proliferation of tablet computers and the use of smartphones for increased communications. The gap between a phone and a computing device are becoming more and more blurry. For these devices to become smaller but also more powerful, they will need to rely on the cloud. Last year saw the explosion of these methods, and this trend is likely to be with us for at least the next several years – if not longer,” Phone.com CEO Ari Rabban (News - Alert) told TMCnet.

According to Phone.com, you no longer have to purchase servers to run your business e-mail and telephone services. With services like Google (News - Alert) Apps, you can run your business’ e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. Phone.com’s CRM solutions, such as Nimble (News - Alert) and SalesForce, can also do some amazing things for your business.

Phone.com has multiple offerings specifically for small businesses, such as a local or 800 number company phone number for under $10 per month. Phone.com’s Mobile Office app for Android (News - Alert) and BlackBerry allows you to make calls from your mobile phone, but have it look on the outgoing caller ID. The company also offers a call forwarding service known as Follow Me/Find Me services.

With over 60 features, Phone.com’s sub $10 plan can give your business just what it needs. If you have three people in your company, each of them can get an unlimited extension and even have it ring on their cell phone.  Other Phone.com cloud services include full Automated Menu, cheap international rates, and free incoming and outgoing SMS that even transcribes voicemail into e-mail or texts.
